You do not want to miss our upcoming April Chapter dinner meeting for this program year which will be on Wednesday evening, April 11th.
Please come to enjoy with your NCMA associates an interesting topic and speaker.
This month, Brad Rush, the Managing Counsel for Space and Intelligence Systems at Harris Corporation, will be our guest speaker who will be talking with us regarding recent happenings with the Section 809 Panel Contracting Initiatives.
Just as a refresh in case you were wondering, what is the purpose of the Section 809 Panel?
The 18-person panel, created in section 809 of the FY 2016 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and amended by section 863(d) of the NDAA for FY 2017 and sections 803(c) & 883 of the NDAA for Fiscal Year 2018, is tasked by Congress with finding ways to streamline and improve the defense acquisition process. The panel has 2 years to develop recommendations for changes in the regulation and associated statute to achieve those ends. The panel is charged with making recommendations that will shape DoD’s acquisition system into one that is bold, simple, and effective.
